WIWS: The Seventh Day

It's the final day of the 7in7 "challenge," and it has been a challenge all right! Trying to make the time I find to write coincide with when the inspiration hits has been as challenging as the quickstep on So You Think You Can Dance. It has been a great lesson in learning that what I think I want to write about often changes completely once I actually start writing and let the Spirit lead me.

I learned that I need to find balance between utilizing the scheduled posts that allow me to carve out a good chunk of time less frequently to write more at once, and finding little spurts of time to jot out posts that come to me suddenly. Sometimes it's a whole post, sometimes a title, sometimes one sentence, but i need to cultivate the talent of being able to spend a few minutes in the midst of inspiration to make some notes and then wait to fill in the details later. Finding a rhythm of writing balanced in with all the other activities that fill my life is essential. Both writing and relationships suffer if I'm off balance.

The rhythm of today tells me to keep the rest of this simple. We're still at my mother in law's house waiting for our bathroom remodel to be finished, so we've been a little out of our element. Here is part of a prayer I found that I like to say before Mass, and of course, what I wore for a link up with Fine Linen & Purple.

May your body and blood,
which I intend to receive,

although I am unworthy,
be for me the remission of my sins,
the washing away of my guilt,
the end of my evil thoughts,
and the rebirth of my better instincts.
May it incite me to do the works pleasing to you and profitable to my health in body and soul,
and be a firm defense against the wiles of my enemies. Amen.

What I threw together:

Skirt: JC Penney clearance
Shirt: Kohls, maybe? A few years old so I don't remember exactly.
Shoes: DSW clearance
Jewelry: just the regular old "dog tags" (crucifix and medals)
Hair: in desperate need of style

Some close up details:

Lace detail on shirt...

Shoes

Why are they strewn about the lawn? This:

Nothing like an afternoon game of Doraball to follow up a Saturday of water play!

I don't get to play in the water? Fine. I'll just hang ten at Surf City.

Makes for a tired family...

Time to go join them!! Happy Sunday!!
